VisualSizer Demo Tour

The following will give you a quick demo tour of VisualSizer™-Professional during which we will guide you through a simple setup of a motion axis and the selection of a motor that matches the required speed, inertia, and torque.

After starting up VisualSizer™-Professional, it will load a series of dialog windows: Axis Design, Velocity Profile, Motor Selection, Report Generator, and Performance Curves. This particular sequence represents the necessary steps for a motor sizing process, i.e. you will use these dialog windows in that particular order.

The picture as shown here represents only an overview of the dialog windows. In all consequence the program will default to the 'Axis Design' window, which is the first step for the motion axis setup.

A very important feature for switching between dialog windows is the ‘Navigator’ bar on the left hand side of the screen. It displays all axes and their corresponding dialog windows in a tree view. The user can ‘navigate’ from window to window by clicking on the corresponding branch in the tree.

The navigation bar also reflects the sequence of steps to set up an application and to select a motor:

  1. Design the axis by selecting the components and entering their corresponding technical data.

  2. Define a velocity profile

  3. Start the calculation to have the optimum motor selected

  4. Create an application report

  5. Compare motor performance and application requirements with a graph
